Faulty valve causes water problem

A large chunk of Welshpool was left without water this morning after a valve blew on a water main.
Water could be seen gushing down the street near the hospital due to the faulty valve on the water main near the corner of Cobden Street and Salop Road.
Water was switched back on to the affected properties but homeowners are being warned to that there could be some disruption again tomorrow.
A spokesperson for Severn Trent said: “The issue has been sorted and no properties are without water now but engineers will be going out tomorrow to replace the valve.”
