Record crowds at Berriew show

Organisers of the Berriew Show have hailed it as the biggest ever with a record attendance attracting record entries.

The early morning rain failed to deter a massive crowd from turning up to take advantage of the glorious afternoon sunshine, as an extended entertainment programme proved popular.

“It was one of our best shows yet,” said secretary Elaine Williams. “The main ring events proved very popular and there was entertainment continuously throughout the day.”

The show field had gone through improvements over the summer to move the Horse Section to accommodate the main ring attractions which proved successful. As well as the marquee reporting record entries, Horse and Sheep entries were also up on last year.
