Funeral announced for Welshpool sportsman

Funeral arrangements were announced today following the death of Welshpool sportsman Tony Windsor.

A funeral service for Tony, of Powis Arms Yard, who died aged 47 last week following a courageous battle with cancer, will be held at St Mary's Church next Monday, September 20 at 2.30pm. The service will be followed by committal at Shrewsbury Crematorium at 4pm.

Former Waterloo Rovers, Meifod and Llansantffraid footballer Tony leaves a wife Lin, daughter Steph and sons Matthew and Chris. He was the son of Clem and Pam Windsor of Brookfield Road, Welshpool.

The family have asked for family flowers only and donations will be to Welshpool Hospital League of Friends, The Severn Hospice or The Lingen Davies Cancer Centre.
