Two sent to hospital after Buttington crash

The smash occurred at 1pm on Buttington Bridge with the car bursting into flames. No-one was trapped in the vehicle but one of the two casualties was taken to hospital in the air ambulance.

 

Fire fighters from Welshpool extinguished the fire and were back at the station shortly before 3pm. The incident created a traffic nightmare with diversions put into place.

 

A check was made on the railway track running below to ensure no debris had fallen onto the line.
