Community order for pet shop drug seller

The manager of the family run Welshpool Pet Shop was selling drugs from the store Mold Crown Court has been told.

Rhian Mair Davies, 29, of Bridge Street in Llanfair Caereinion, had drugs with a street value of £1,125,74 split between her rucksack at the pet shop and at her home, along with £240 cash at the shop, £2,225 cash at home and weighing scales.
 
Judge Philip Hughes gave her a 12 month community order with supervision and also ordered her to carry out a drug rehabilitation requirement for six months.
 
Davies had previously admitted possessing 179 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply, possessing 27 grammes of herbal cannabis, possessing 15 grammes of cannabis resin, possessing four grammes of amphetamine possessing 0.9g of MDMA, possessing 0.8g and 0.03g of benzylpiperazine and possessing a trace of cocaine.
 
The court heard that Davies had been buying the drugs in Shrewsbury and Telford and then selling them to friends and multiple sclerosis sufferers.
Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police attended Welshpool Pet Shop in Hall Street on March 29 with a search warrant  and the defendant handed over a bag of cannabis and weighing scales  from her rucksack.
 
Davies was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station for questioning, while officers went to search her home in Llanfair Caereinion where  they found the other drugs and £2,225 in cash."
