MP undergoes heart op

Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies (right) will undergo a minor operation this afternoon to correct the heart problem identified during his historic election campaign earlier this year.

Mr. Davies will receive non-surgical electric current treatment for his arrhythmic (irregular) heartbeat and will be administered a general anesthetic. He is expected to be released from the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital soon after the procedure.

Earlier this week, Queen Rania of Jordan underwent a similar procedure in New York.

Mr. Davies revealed this month to mywelshpool that he would require the treatment after it was diagnosed during his exhaustive campaign to become only the second Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire in a century.
