Police Superindendant Ian John said eight specialist teams and five specialist police search advisors were joining other searchers and there would be no let up in the hunt for the missing toddler.
"Dogs, helicopters and a marine unit together with mountain rescue teams have been searching difficult terrain together a with volunteers and I can not praise their efforts enough," he said.
But the police chief fended off questions from press in the pouring rain when quizzed whether his team was looking for anyone else in the enquiry or whether any items connected to April had been found.
