Maes-y-dre is ‘feeling the love’

11/10/2012 @ 10:24

Maes-y-dre School is once again inviting the town to show its support as it continues on the road to recovery.

The school is organising a second ‘Love Your School’ day on Sunday when the town is invited to show up from 9.30am to carry out some odd jobs around the premises.

The last one proved highly successful and compliments the work being done inside the school which is bouncing back from a tough period compounded by a poor Estyn inspectors report last year.

“This will be the second such day of what will be a rolling programme of similar events in order to get the school back to where we all want it to be,” said Terry Ingram, who is one of the organisers. “We want the outside of the school to mirror the great things taking place inside. It’s also an opportunity to bring the whole school community together with a shared aim.”

Kaye Derwas of Derwas of Welshpool is one corporate partner showing some social responsibility and it is hoped that more companies in the town will step forward to support.

Materials and refreshments will be provided.
