An entry of 69 over thirty month cattle sold to average 114ppkg for the 46 cows, 127ppkg for the 4 bulls, 141ppkg & 152ppkg for the 19 under 72 month old heifers and steers. Top price of the day for an older cow was £1118.88 for a British Blue cow weighing 777kg from GJ & DM Breeze Red House. JM & S Rowlands Dolwen sold a Limousin cow weighing 684kg for £1032.84. GJ & DM Breeze Red House receives the Briarwood Products Ltd prize of £25 for the highest price older cow sold on the day. 14 fat cattle sold to average 191ppkg for the steers and 194ppkg for the heifers. JM & S Rowlands Dolwen presented three heifers to a top price of 228ppkg, 222ppkg and 221ppkg. Jones Ystradolwyn sold three steers to 212ppkg, 211ppkg and 190ppkg. JM & S Rowlands Dolwen receives the Briarwood Products Ltd prize of £25 for the highest price per kilo animal sold on the day. Mediums (39.5kg to 45.5kg) (2019) to 175ppkg from CL & C Watkins Bank Farm. Others to 158ppkg from ER & GT Matthews & Son Killowent. Average of 148ppkg. 

Heavies (45.1kg to 52kg) (1019) to 162ppkg from CL & C Watkins Bank Farm. Others to 152ppkg from M Gethin 3 Glyn Terrace. Average of 142ppkg.

An entry of 2473 cull sheep on offer for sale today, sold to average £44.61 for the ewes and £72.91 for the rams. Top price of the day for the ewes was £90 per head from A G Williams & Son Plassau Farm. Top price for the cull rams was £138 per head from R L & M E Jukes Tynybryn. Weekly sale of cull sheep to immediately follow the sale of fat lambs at approximately 12noon.    

An entry of 990 store lambs averaging £41. Theave lambs achieving a top price of £58 fro C W Smith & Co Cil Meri. Mixed and Clean lambs achieving a top price of £61 fro Cefncoed Farms. Wether lambs achieving £50 from RH & ME Lewis Brynhoveth. Tup Lambs achieving a top price of £92 from F J Jones Bryncwmnant. An entry of 694 store ewes. Three year old ewes achieving a top price of £98. As found ewes achieving £70 from P Jones & Son Dolgwenith. Ewes lambs achieving a top price of £98 from E L Evans & Co Green Farm for Texelx Beulah ewe lambs.

 

With the breeding sheep sales coming to an end there where more buyers around the ring which resulted in a better trade than recent sales. RE & CJ Davies Boycott Hall sold 6 1^st Calvers with Limousin calves to a top price of £1850 averaging £1703. Two British Bluex cows with Limousin calves at foot from M E Hughes & Son Caerlloi sold for £1700 and £1500. D Griffiths Cwmbyr sold a British Bluex cow with a Limousin bull calf for £1690. Presented by J L Evans & Son Blaenbythigion was an Aberdeen Angusx cow with a Charolais Bull calf which made £1480. A breakdown of the prices achieved where as follows: £1800 + 1 lot, £1600 - £1800 7 lots, £1400 - £1600 4 lots, £1200 - £1400 3 lots, less than £1200 7 lots.
