Welshpool braces for Mad Friday

Last year, Mad Friday was graced by a touch of celebrity, so who knows what’s in store for today!

Amidst the mayhem of packed pubs last year, Deon Stewardson, 61, best known as Anders Du Plessis in the ITV hit series Wild at Heart, was enjoying his own day out and posed happily for pictures with revellers. He even made it to Moltos!

Mad Friday is traditionally the final work day for many before the Christmas break and it is one of the most profitable days of the year for the town’s pubs which will be packed to the rafters.

Police have encouraged revellers to enjoy themselves but not to overstep the mark while anyone thinking of picking up their cars early tomorrow with a thick head are advised not to and let the alcohol pass through their system completely.
