Travellers won’t delay one-way work

Planners have confirmed to mywelshpool that the travelling community that moved onto the Church Road (Spar) Car Park yesterday should be gone by the time they move in to start the new one-way road system tomorrow (Friday).

Several caravans took residence on the car park, causing concern that the work scheduled to start in the morning may have to be delayed.

But Powys County Council say there is no need for concern.

“We have been in discussion with the travellers who assured us that they are in transit and will either move on tonight or tomorrow,” said a spokesperson.

Initial work on the one-way system will result in the car park losing 50 of its spaces for the next 10 weeks, leaving 270 parking spots.
