Hair one minute… gone the next!

The local woman who let her children shave off her hair in memory of the brother she called her ‘best friend’ last Saturday has reached her fundraising target.

Nettie Day (right), from Welshpool, was featured on mywelshpool ahead of her fundraising head shave to raise money for the blood and Lymphatic cancer charity, Leukaemia CARE. Cousin Hollie Pinchera, from Forden, helped to finish the job off.

Nettie had decided to do something after losing her brother Julian to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 1997.

“It was a wonderful evening and so far I have raised over £2,000 but I must admit that I am feeling the cold now!” she said. “I want to thank everyone that has supported me. It really does mean a lot.”
