Rubbish collections as normal over Easter

28/03/2013 @ 10:06

Powys County Council has confirmed that recycling and rubbish will be collected as normal on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.

The council is also reminding residents to recycle whatever they can with the expected increase in waste from the 80 million Easter Eggs to be sold UK-wide.

Councillor Barry Thomas, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, said: “At Easter we all like to enjoy a chocolate egg or two! But as we’re enjoying our chocolate fix, I am asking people to think about recycling the packaging. Better still, why not try and buy eggs that are not excessively packaged and instead go for those wrapped only in foil.”
