Tourism website relaunched

The Mid Wales tourism industry’s display in the global shop window has been improved following the launch of a new website.

Mid Wales Tourism (MWT), an independent, not for profit organisation representing more than 600 tourism and hospitality businesses across Mid Wales, hopes to attract more visitors through its new look www.visitmidwales.co.uk.

Improved navigation makes it easier for visitors to locate the information they are seeking. The look and feel of the site are consistent with the ‘Show Me Wales’ app developed by MWT for smartphones last year, which provides a comprehensive guide to things to do, activities and places to visit across the country.

“If you know nothing about Mid Wales before you visit, the website has sections with quality information on destinations and towns to guide visitors through the region,” explained Val Hawkins, MWT’s chief executive.

“It’s designed as a one stop shop for visitors, where they research an area and book accommodation all in one visit. The updating ofwww.visitmidwales.co.uk was the final link in a development programme that began with the Show me Wales app.”

The destinations are North Powys, Mid and South Powys, Ceredigion and Southern Snowdonia, which each contain pages on towns within their area with video content.

Under the ‘Things to do’ heading, there are sections on adventure, leisure, sightseeing and the great outdoors. The ‘Where to stay’ heading gives visitors a wealth of options, from hotels, guesthouses and self catering to touring, camping and holiday parks and ‘something different’.

Visitors can also access special offers and late deals as well as information about events within Mid Wales.
