Powys County Council Leader Councillor David Jones has announced changes in the way service areas and responsibilities are managed within his cabinet.
The changes, which were announced after the council’s annual meeting, do not affect the size or membership of the cabinet and have been introduced to ensure areas of responsibility support the county council’s new operating structure.
“We have changed the operating structure of the council as part of a drive to become a commissioning council with a greater emphasis on service outcomes. It follows that the cabinet members’ portfolios also change to compliment the new structure and provide seamless leadership,” he said.
“I have also taken the opportunity to change some cabinet member roles to provide fresh challenges for the coming year. The council is going through a period of unprecedented change but I am confident that my team is up to that challenge.”
