Antiques Roadshow dilemma solved!

24/05/2013 @ 11:06

The Antiques Roadshow is set to visit Montgomeryshire in July, but faced a major hiccup after a key road to the venue was due to be closed for water works to take place.

The BBC programme was due to be filmed at the spectacular Gregynog Hall on July 4, but the B4390 between Manafon and Berriew, a key artery to the property, was due to be closed to allow a major water main renewal work to be carried out on behalf of Severn Trent Water by Enterprise Plc.

But Powys County Council has intervened and confirmed that a third phase of work on the road, set to start on June 24, will now be delayed until after the programme has taken place.

A spokesperson for Powys County Council said: “Enterprise Plc is carrying out the water main renewal works on behalf of Severn Trent Water and they have agreed to ensure that the road between Berriew and Manafon will not be closed on July 4 to avoid undue disruption to traffic heading to or from the Antiques Roadshow.”
