Be a tourist in your own town!

11/06/2013 @ 10:38

It’s amazing what a town the size of Welshpool has to offer the outside world, and it’s even more amazing that most of us are not even aware of it too!

But that can all change with the ‘Be A Local Tourist Week’ from June 28 when the Mayor’s Coffee Morning in the Corn Exchange gets things underway.

The week provides a chance for residents to find out more about their town, its history and the attractions it has to offer, as well as an added appeal for visitors to have the opportunity to look more in depth into the area in which they are staying.

Various activities are planned throughout the week including talks, walks, photographic displays, quizzes and exhibitions hosted at various locations around the town. Local houses, buildings and gardens of interest will also be open to the public throughout the week.

A programme of events will be available from the Town Hall, Indoor Market, Tourist Information Centre, Town Clerk’s Office and the Library.

You could be amazed at just how much is literally on your doorstep!
