A Welshpool community care and support provider will be in London this weekend for the national finals of The Great British Care Awards after being named as ‘Care Employer of the Year’ at the regional finals.

Radis Community Care, who has a branch in Welshpool, provides support in the home to vulnerable people across the area.  The family run company also have branches in the North, the East and West Midlands, the East, South East and West of England and Wales and employ over 1500 people.

Samir Patel, Director, told us that it is the staff who work for Radis who deserve the real praise:

‘Winning the title of ‘Employer of the Year’ at a regional level was a huge accolade so to be recognised at a national level would be truly humbling.

"We have a huge amount of respect for our Support Workers who do a fantastic job, day in, day out and sometimes under great pressure.  Here at Radis, we pride ourselves on a set of values that run through the core of everything we do – one of them is Valuing People and we do our upmost to both value and support our Support Workers as they go about their hugely important and significant roles.

"If it wasn’t for them, the world of care would be a very different place."

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector.  The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals and Companies who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Rob Stanton, who helps to organise the awards said that the standard of entry was exceptional so Radis should be particularly proud:

‘Radis have a very person-centred approach to running their business; this is evident by the employee testimonials. They have a strong ethos and positive outcomes for employees and Service Users. They truly deserve this award.’

Radis Community Care will be at the national finals in London on Saturday night (22nd).  At the glitzy ceremony, the finalists will be treated to a three course meal and champagne while ‘Loose Women’ star, Jane Macdonald presents the awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
