'Easy read' Change Plan now live

Powys County Council’s annual improvement report - the Powys Change Plan - has been published in an 'easy read' version on the council’s website.

All councils across Wales have to produce an improvement report each year, setting out priorities for improvement for the coming three years.

“Communicating what we intend to do to improve the council is a crucial part of making sure we remain accountable to residents,” said Cllr David Jones, Leader of the Council. “The Powys Change Plan is one of the most important documents we produce as a council. It provides the blue print for improvements to service delivery over the next three years.

“Five specific objectives are laid out in the plan. Improvements to the care and wellbeing of residents, regeneration and learning in the community make up for the first three objectives. Actions to combat climate change is the fourth and the fifth looks at the organisation, processes and the culture of the council itself, and the way it communicates with residents and businesses.

“We want as many residents and businesses to read the plan as possible, which is why this year we have produced it in an easy-read online format” explained Cllr Jones.
