War correspondent Martin Bell in town

Police may be clamping down on anti-social behaviour in Welshpool but surely it’s not dramatic enough for world-famous war correspondent Martin Bell OBE (pictured) to be in town?

The former BBC reporter, who became an independent Member of Parliament in 1997 for four years, will actually deliver a keynote speech tomorrow (Thursday) at the Town Hall in front of a packed crowd of ladies attending The Annual Council of the Powys Montgomery Federation of Womens Institutes.

The annual business meeting will take place in the morning and Mr. Bell, (known as the man in the white suit) will address the audience in the afternoon.  Tickets are priced £4, starting promptly at 2.15 pm.
