Finish what you’ve started, youngsters urged

Youngsters who started out on a prestigious award are being urged to finish what they have started by Powys County Council.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) saw 269 young people achieve an award last year at one of three levels – bronze, silver or gold. But there are many young people who start out on an award then don’t get through to the end, even though they may have put in loads of effort to get several of the activities completed.

Now a campaign, called I’ve started so I’ll finish, has been launched to give youngsters the opportunity to complete the award which they have started.

Claire Mills, the Powys DofE Development Officer, said: “There are many young people who start out on a DofE adventure and work hard to complete sections of their award but don’t see it through.

“If you are one of these young people, or know someone who is, and would like to complete your award then the I’ve started so I’ll finish is for you.
