The news comes hard on the heels of the road closure at Abermule which meant long diversions for travellers today.
Snow has fallen in the Welshpool area and the Met Office has warned motorists to be aware of possible travel disruption.
A yellow "be aware" warning was issued advising snow was expected to sweep across Mid Wales with up to 10cm (3.9in) of snow forecast for higher ground.
The Met Office said snow was likely to accumulate in places, especially over hills, given the cold ground. The latest warning follows a week of extreme weather.
