Now your bins will be emptied on Bank Holidays

There’s good news for recyclers today with Powys County Council announcing that your rubbish will be collected as usual on Bank Holidays.

Powys County Council has recently reviewed its Bank Holiday working arrangements and it has been agreed that recycling and rubbish collections will now take place on bank holidays to minimise the disruption to residents and traders.
Therefore, collections that fall on a bank holiday will no longer be disrupted and will be collected as per normal with the exception of Christmas and New Year.

That means it’s collections as usual on May Bank Holiday Monday for everyone in the Welshpool area.

Please ensure that your recycling and rubbish is put out for collection by 7.30am as the collection times may vary.
Nigel Brinn, Head of Highways, Transport and Recycling, said: “The council reviewed its working arrangements for bank holidays and is pleased to confirm that there will be no change to collection days over the May bank holidays.

“This consistent approach will make it less confusing for residents and traders whilst providing for a more efficient collection service.”
