Police are offering a £5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the armed robbers that raided a Welshpool jewellers.
The County Goldsmiths on Church Street (right) was targeted on December 1 at 5pm when the three masked raiders were dramatically fought off by the shop’s owner Stuart Woodings in a terrifying struggle.
During the fight, Mr. Woodings was sprayed with gas by one of the raiders who police believe would have sustained serious facial injuries during his fight with the owner.
The man wriggled free and ran off empty handed with the other two men in the direction of Church Street past the fish shop.
A police spokesperson said: “Dyfed-Powys Police continue to investigate the attempted robbery at The County Goldsmiths in Welshpool and is appealing for help with the cash reward. All three men were dressed in black clothing with some form of hood or scarf over their faces. If you have information, we encourage you to contact Welshpool CID on 101.”
