Road safety course for teenagers

02/07/2015 @ 09:01

Welshpool area teenagers have an opportunity to learn safe driving practices thanks to a free road safety course.

Powys County Council’s Road Safety Unit is holding its Teen Drive courses next month with the Welshpool event on August 12 from 9.30am-12.30pm or 1.30pm-4.30pm at Theatr Clera.

The courses are completely free for all 14-17 year olds who live or study in Powys, thanks to funding from the Welsh Government.

The session includes workshops with Road Safety Officers, first aid trainers and Approved Driving Instructors enabling candidates to:

- Drive a dual-controlled car in a safe environment (off-road)
- Learn valuable, life-saving skills
- Learn about drink/drug driving, collisions, speeding, mobile phone and seatbelt use.

Places are limited so you need to book in advance through road.safety@powys.gov.uk
