Herbert gets number one target

Technogroup Welshpool manager Chris Herbert has made two more signings and claims to have landed his number one target.

He has signed Nathan Mapletoft, a free scoring striker from Newton FC, and his younger brother Simon, a quick and strong defender.

"Nathan scores goals for fun and I have been trying to persuade him to move to Welshpool since the day I got the job," said Herbert.. "He is a mjor signing for us and will be one of the better strikers in this league."

Mapletoft made six appearances in the Welsh Premier League for Airbus, netting three goals. But he was forced back into local football by work commitments.

Neither player is available for today's clash with Rhayader as they await international clearance but Herbert will introduce as many as 14 new signings to Maesydre following his arrival as replacement for Mike Barton.
