Youth rugby tour of hope

27/01/2011 @ 11:53

A group of local young rugby players are embarking on the trip of a lifetime in April to combine rugby with vital charity work in a tough South African shanty town.

The ‘Rugby Tour Making A Difference’ will involve players from the COBRA Youth Team who will travel to South African from April 15 until April 29.

“During our time in South Africa, we will be working for five days building a Crèche for infant age children for a school in a Shanty Town,” said tour organiser Darren Mayor.

“We will also be involved in a feeding programme for a day to the poorest of the poor in the Shanty Town and have also received four invitations to play rugby against local schools and rugby clubs.”

The tour is now seeking sponsors from individuals or companies with a variety of packages and available, including straightforward donations through http://www.justgiving.com/cobra-youth-team.

Just Giving sends the donation straight to The Ezra and Nehemiah Trust and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if a UK taxpayer.
