‘No arguments over inspection failure’

Llansantffraid Village have reassured supporters that minor work will see them pass a second ground inspection to allow them possible promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Welsh football gasped in disbelief this morning after we announced The Saints had failed their pitch inspection along with Llanrhaeadr.

But the club, which inherited one of the best grounds in Wales three years ago following the departure of TNS to Oswestry, has been quick to outline their shortfalls and explain that “a couple of hours of work” will sort out the problems.

“We have no arguments with the inspection report,” said manager Ray Jones. “Kids had knocked down some rails by one corner and since moving the changing rooms we have not facilitated for the officials to have a walkway through to the pitch to avoid spectators. We are looking at a couple of hours work to put it right.”

The Saints will have another inspection after April 30 and should they fail in their bid for promotion by winning the Spar Division One, they would receive a refund on their application.

League leaders Berriew passed the inspection.
