Guilsfield manager Russell Cadwallader breathed a sigh of relief today (Wednesday) after securing brothers Tom and Joe Coulson until the end of the season.
 
Alarm bells were ringing after a seven-day notice landed on the manager’s desk last week stating that Shropshire club Shawbury wanted to speak to midfielder Tom.
 
More bad news followed as chatter from across the border indicated that the club was also preparing to lure defender Joe.
 
But last night, the elder brother committed to the village club and is in the squad for this weekend’s six pointer against relegation rivals Rhayader.
 
“It is great news for the club,” said Cadwallader. “I have a good squad of 17 and don’t want to lose any players as they all have an important role to play.”
