New co-driver for Watkins

Welshpool rally driver James Watkins has a new co-driver as he prepares for the new season.

The 21  year old has enlisted the services of 17 year old Llanfair rally enthusiast Siobhan Pugh and the pair plan to start the year in the same 1000cc Nissan Micra run by Geogg Jones Motorsport.

James aims to upgrade to a 1300cc engine later in the year and is once again sponsored by Makefast of Newtown and Rally Marketing of Welshpool.

"I am indebted to Makefast, Rally Marketing and Geoff Jones Motorsport for their continued support because without them we could not have had such a successful 2010," said James.

The pair will compete in the Rally Marketing Mid Wales Stages on March 6, and continue with the Bulldog Rally in April and then the Plains Rally in May.

James will be holding a a press and sponsors afternoon in the Sweet Lamb Rally Complex on Friday, February 25 to thank supporters and sponsors and introduce Siobhan to the team.
