Richie Harris forced to hang up boots

Former Welshpool midfield player Richie Harris has been forced to retire from the game.

Harris, who joined Newtown from Welshpool in last year's January transfer window, suffered serious knee ligament damage on his debut at Cefn Druids.

Despite operations and extensive physiotherapy treatment Harris has been forced to call it a day on advice from specialists.

He has undergone two operations but a third was considered too risky, so Richie bows out of football at the age of 27.
