Berriew extend lead at the top

A fine Ian Probert free kick just before half time was enough for Berriew to open up a nine-point gap at the top of the Spar Division One last night (Tuesday).
Neil Pryce’s side faced tough local opposition in inconsistent Waterloo Rovers but clinched a 1-0 win. The lead may look handsome but closest rivals Llanrhaeadr now have a whopping five games in hand.
In the evening’s other game, fast improving Llanidloes moved third with a comfortable 3-1 win over relegation threatened Dyffryn Banw.
