Big time football returns to Town tonight

Big time football returns to Welshpool tonight for the first time in a decade.

Welshpool Town, who play in the third tier of Welsh football, were awarded a wild card to enter the Nathaniel MG Cup – a prestigious competition comprising Welsh clubs from all levels.

And tonight they will entertain Welsh Premier side, Aberystwyth Town, at 7.45pm, hoping to put their indifferent league form behind them by springing a shock.

Entry will be £3 for adults, whilst children can watch for free.

Guilsfield are also in the competition and travel to another big Welsh Premier club, Bala Town, tonight.

There are also a handful of Montgomeryshire Amateur League matches on tonight.
