Sweet Sixteen for Castle

11/12/2018 @ 09:37

Bishop’s Castle sent out a strong message to the rest of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League at the weekend.

The border club moved into second with a 16-0 victory over Maesyrhandir, keeping the three-horse race at the top of the league alive with leaders Guilsfield Reserves and Forden United not in action.

There were big wins too for a pair of the second division’s title chasers with both Trefonen and Welshpool Town Reserves almost reaching double figures.

There was reason to celebrate at The Lake too with Llanwddyn picking up their first win since reforming, a 5-2 victory at Waterloo Reserves.
