The weekend’s football gets underway tonight with both Newtown and Berriew in action, but all eyes will be on tomorrow’s Central Wales Cup to see if the minnows can upset some big guns.
While Newtown head to TNS in the Welsh Premier tonight with a top six mid-season place already secured, MMP first division high flyers Berriew will be hoping to avoid a banana skin under the Friday night lights when they entertain struggling Churchstoke in the Cup.
Tomorrow, division one leaders Llanidloes will be looking to upset Penrhyncoch while Forden from the amateur league will take on Mid Wales heavyweights Caersws. Fellow amateur league side Trewern go to Tywyn/Bryncrug, while Llangedwyn entertain Talgarth.
In the Huws Gray Alliance, Guilsfield welcome Conwy Borough and Llanrhaeadr head to Rhyl.
In the MMP Division Two, leaders Montgomery are in action along with Waterloo Rovers.
