Forden came close to pulling off one of the shocks in recent times, but they just came up short against Caersws in the second round of the Central Wales Cup.
Despite going behind against the Mid Wales League high flyers, the amateur league side pulled level, and only went out to a Bluebirds winner 15 minutes from time.
The other ties went to form too with all the more senior sides heading into the quarter-final draw.
It was a disappointing day in the Huws Gray Alliance where Guilsfield were undone by two late goals from 10-man Conwy Borough. Llanrhaeadr were also beaten 3-1 at Rhyl.
In the MMP Mid Wales League Division Two, Montgomery Town remain top after beating Dyffryn Banw 3-1, and Waterloo Rovers beat Dolgellau 3-2.
