Guilsfield Reserves march on

03/02/2019 @ 08:44

The weather may have been the big winner on Saturday, but it was Guilsfield’s groundsmen who would have been celebrating last night.

The club’s reserve match in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League against Trewern United was the only fixture to beat the weather on grass in Montgomeryshire, allowing them to extend their lead at the top with a 4-1 win.

Forden United won the battle of second v third, 2-0, against Bishop’s Castle on the Latham Park all-weather.

Elsewhere, Llanrhaeadr were unlucky to return from Flint Town United on the end of a 2-1 defeat in the Huws Gray Alliance.

And in the MMP Mid Wales League, Churchstoke lost 5-0 at Aberaeron.

All of the local Central Wales Cup matches were postponed.
