Guilsfield hold Alliance leaders

Guilsfield stunned Huws Gray Alliance leaders Airbus Broughton with an added time equaliser on a day that Llanrhaeadr also made it a good day for the league’s local clubs.

Guilsfield were behind in the 14th minute, but created chaos in the dying stages of the game to enable Robbie James to level.

Llanrhaeadr came from a goal down to beat Penrhyncoch 2-1 for back-to-back wins. Joe Vaughan and Khyam Wyton did the damage.

Caersws won the big MMP Cup derby tie by overcoming league leaders Llanidloes Town 3-1, and Berriew eased past Welshpool Town 7-0 on Friday night to reach the semi-final. Carno are into the last four after edging past division two high flyers Montgomery Town.

In the league, Llanfair United closed the gap at the top following a hard earned 3-2 win over Kerry, with Karl Seliaerts’ winner coming in the 92nd minute.

Four Crosses handed Montgomery a title boost by beating their closest rivals Hay St Mary’s in Division Two. Waterloo Rovers were held back by a 2-2 draw at home to Borth United. There were also wins for Abermule and Dyffryn Banw.
