Llanrhaeadr were favourites for the Huws Gray Alliance drop this season, according to many, but the village club continues to impress with win number 10 on Saturday.
The victory was secured by player-manager Marc Griffiths whose second half goal proved the difference in a 3-2 win over Ruthin Town.
Inconsistent Guilsfield had a delayed kick-off due to a linesman breaking down in his car, and they were caught cold at home by Denbigh Town who returned north with a 1-0 win.
Leaders Llanidloes and title rivals Llanfair United and Berriew came through unscathed in the MMP Mid Wales League Division One, but Caersws had to fight back for a point at home to Kerry. Welshpool Town were also held at home in a goalless draw with Llandrindod Wells.
In Division Two, Four Crosses hit top form at Dyffryn Banw while Waterloo Rovers were well beaten at Hay St Mary’s. Abermule edged past Borth United.
Among the results already in for the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League, Guilsfield Reserves took a big step towards the title with a hard-earned victory at Forden United thanks to Danny Barton’s late winner.
