Welshpool have a point - at last

Technogroup Welshpool have a point to show for their Huws Gray Alliance efforts - at last.

Having been deducted 18 points Pool have been battling to get back into a positive position ever since manager Chris Herbert took charge and now they have done it, despite knowing that only an administration situation can save them from relegation.

Pool drew 0-0 to collect a valuable point at Penrhyncoch.

Guilsfield are now well clear of the relegation battle after winning 2-0 at home to Rhydymwyn. Mark Davies netted a first minute opener and top scorer Ross Frame rounded things off in the second half to take the pressure off manager Russell Cadwallader.

Caersws gained a valuable league point with a 2-2 draw at home to third placed Llandudno.

The Bluebirds found themselves trailing to a Ewan Williams goal as early as the fifth minute but Gareth Watkins hit back on 20 minutes.

Ryan Williams then gave Llandudno a half time lead from the penalty spot on 44 minutes but Geraint Lewis was on hand to snatch a point for Micky Evans' side on 56 minutes.

Rhayader look doomed after losing 4-2 at Porthmadog.

There were no shocks in the Spar Mid Wales League Cup second round fixtures. Berriew continued their remarkable run under new manager Neil Price, winning 2-1 at Carno while Llanrhaeadr got the better of the local derby to win 1-0 at Four Crosses.

Llanidloes won 2-0 at Llandrindod and Montgomery charged through with a 5-0 trouncing of Talgarth. Dyffryn Banw are out though, losing 2-1 at Rhosgoch.

In division two Abermule won the big local derby with a single goal against Kerry, Llanfair defeated Llanfyllin 3-1 while Meifod crashed 3-0 at Tregaron.

Carno Reserves crashed out of the Llansantffraid Village Cup, losing 2-0 to Llanrhaeadr Reserves who scored through Tom Bailey and Barry Morris.

In Honda Division One Bettws and Waterloo Reserves drew 2-2. Richard Williams and Luke Jarman netted for Bettws with Matt Jones and Scott Beddoes replying. Llanidloes Reserves went down 2-1 at Guilsfield who netted through Luke Francis and Sam Griffiths. Nick Jones scored a penalty for Llani.

Berriew Reserves went down 4-1 at Llangedwyn. Sam Jones netted for the Rhiewsiders but James Broadbent(2) and James Wigley(2) got Llangedwyn's goals.

In the second division Kerry Reserves went down 2-1 to Llanfechain. Elliot Smith netted for Kerry with Robbie Phillips abnd Russel Jones on target for the visitors.

Luke Weaver was the toast of Welshpool after netting six goals in Welshpool Reserves 7-0 win at Llanfair. Matt Windsor got the other goal.

Llansantffraid Reserves and Trefonen drew  2-2 and Ian McLeod got the onlky goal as Waterloo Colts won 1-0 at Morda.
