Llanrhaeadr take Mont Cup

Llanrhaeadr have drawn first blood in their finals double header this week against Berriew, overcoming the impressive MMP Mid Wales side 3-2 to take the Montgomeryshire Cup.

Played out in front of a big crowd in Welshpool, the Huws Gray Alliance side took the lead through Iwan Matthews in the 17^th minute before Berriew drew level 15 minutes later through Richard Davies.

Berriew went ahead early in the second half following an own goal, but Llanrhaeadr showed why they have become a force in the second tier of Welsh football by pulling level through a Dan Weaver volley, before Khyam Wyton headed the winner six minutes from time.

The two teams do it all again this Saturday in the final of the Central Wales Cup at Caersws.
