It’s been a great week in the fledgling professional football career of Welshpool’s Max Williams (middle).
The 16-year-old made his debut for Salford City’s U18s as they beat the highly fancied Preston North End youth side 3-2 on Saturday, and this afternoon he was called up to the Wales U17 side.
Williams is part of the 21-man squad that will travel to play in Bosnia & Herzegovina in the first week of September.
The former Welshpool High School pupil signed for the EFL League Two club on a two-year scholarship in July.
Salford City is part owned by Wales manager Ryan Giggs along with the likes of fellow ‘Class of 92’ stars David Beckham, Gary Neville and others.
