Bragging rights for Town

14/09/2019 @ 06:44

Welshpool Town won the bragging rights with a convincing win at Waterloo Rovers in the second round of the FAW Trophy.

Town cruised to a 6-0 win, and will be joined in the hat for the next round by Caersws, Carno, Four Crosses and Berriew.

Newtown won their mid-table tussle in the JD Cymru Premier, but left it late.

With the game looking like ending scoreless, George Harry popped up six minutes from time to secure the points against in-form Bala Town.

Adam Jenkins had a busy evening on Friday in netting a hat-trick for Guilsfield in his side’s 3-3 draw with Corwen before being sent off near the end.

Also in the JD Premier North, Karl Seliaerts missed a 92nd minute penalty that would have given Llanfair United a deserved point, but they went down 3-2 against Rhyl.

High flying Llanrhaeadr were pegged back after going down 2-1 at their ‘Theatre of Trees’ to Conwy.
