Montgomeryshire’s hopes of winning the FAW Trophy are alive and well after Welshpool Town and Berriew eased their way into the fifth round.

Pool returned from Cefn Mawr Rangers with a 4-1 win while Berriew swept Lex XI aside 7-0 to go into the hat. Carno were beaten at home by Llandudno Albion.

There was a hard fought derby at Llanfair United where Llanrhaeadr left with the JD Cymru North points. All five goals were scored in the first half with Llanrhaeadr holding on for the 3-2 victory.

Llandrindod Wells have breathed some life into the MMP Mid Wales League Division One title race by stunning runaway leaders Llanidloes Town.

The 2-0 verdict was the first defeat suffered by The Daffs, with Builth Wells winning 3-2 at Aberaeron to close the gap to six points.

Waterloo Rovers remain right in the mix at the top of the second division after a 3-1 win over Churchstoke, but there were defeats for Forden United and Dyffryn Banw.
