Welshpool swimmer Dan Jones finished the job last night of becoming a Welsh champion.
Earlier on Friday, Jones set a new Welsh record by winning his 50m heat at the Welsh National Short Course Champs in the National Pool, Swansea, in a time of 21.95 secs.
The full time University of Swansea Club captain then went on to win the final by an incredible 1.5 seconds from his nearest rival, clocking the nation’s second fastest ever time of 22.0 seconds.
It will be a hectic time ahead for the 23-year-old who will be defending his Red Bull Neptune Steps title for a third time in March, and will be teaming up with his brother, Morgan, to try and win the duo course title.
