Due to a fixture backlog and problems with their floodlights, Welshpool will play their Rybrook Land Rover North Wales Bowl quarter final against Abergele tonight (Wednesday) at Wrexham RFC with a 7.30pm kick off, writes Gary Williams from Oval Zone Rugby.
Last year's beaten finalists Welshpool know that, despite having beaten Abergele twice in the league this season, tonight's tie is definitely not a foregone conclusion. Both games against ’Gele were close affairs with the Maesydre men just edging the final results.
Coach Dai Roberts stated: “The boys will definitely be up for this game tonight, they enjoyed their day out at the final last season and are looking for a return visit. We know that Abergele have been improving results-wise as the season has progressed and they’ll be tough opposition but I’m confident we have enough firepower to secure a semi-final spot.”
