Crosses almost stun runaway leaders

29/02/2020 @ 05:43

Storm Jorge wrecked the weekend fixtures once again, with only two matches featuring local clubs.

But what an upset we almost saw at Llanidloes Town who edged past Four Crosses to extend their lead at the top of the MMP Mid Wales League Division One to a whopping 16 points.

The Daffs took the lead in the first minute from the penalty spot before Four Crosses scored twice. Llanidloes levelled before half-time and then a second penalty secured the points.

Meanwhile, Newtown’s Welsh Cup adventure is over after going down to a Dean Ebbe-inspired The New Saints at Park Hall.

Ebbe scored all of his side’s first half goals before Newtown pulled one back early in the second period through Joe Kenton. But TNS added two more for their comfortable passage through to the semi-final.
