Toyota’s Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin have emerged unhurt after a high-speed accident during the unofficial World Rally Championship warm-up event for Rally Estonia, the South Estonian Rally.
The Dolgellau driver had been lying fourth in his Yaris WRC behind team-mate Sébastien Ogier when he went off on a sixth-gear corner after hitting a tree stump, just over six miles into the first stage after midday service.
The car suffered heavy damage to the front and rear after it left the road, but fortunately both were unharmed.
