Adele hoping for ‘track’ run!

Readers will know Welshpool’s Adele Nicoll as one of the country’s top Athletics stars having performed so well in discus and shot putt over the past decade.

But now our very own Welsh champion is set to swap the field for a ‘track’ of a different kind following her online revelation last night.

After posting some videos and pictures (taken by @montytrackstar), she announced: “OK, so some of you knew that I was working on something new and here it is!

“2020 has been a mad year so far but there are so many good things I can take away from it.

“In August I took the opportunity to try a brand new sport and I loved it. I’ve been selected to fly to Germany on October 1 for a training camp with GB bobsleigh! I can't wait to experience the same thing on ice.

“This is all still very new but I’m learning and I’m extremely grateful to those who have helped and supported me so far. Watch this space!”

Adele said that she hasn’t quit Athletics and confirmed that she is “still very much looking forward” to competing in 2021.

“This only means that I'm going to be more powerful,” she said.
