Vandals strike sports facilities again

Fed up football officials say they are unable to name and shame youths that may have been captured on their CCTV vandalising their facilities.

Waterloo Rovers discovered for the second time this season that seats in their stand at Maesydre had been smashed, and glass bottles thrown onto the playing surface, prompting stern words from club officials.

“More mindless vandalism to our stand again,” the club stated, with club stalwart David Proctor questioning “we can’t name and shame them because they have rights?”.

The club has CCTV covering some of the area and will be discussing next steps once it has been reviewed, but Mr Proctor added: “We have been told not to name them.”

In July, the club discovered that some of their new seating had been destroyed within days of being installed.
